When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

Continuing the topic of industrial post-apocalypse meeting religion that started with Das Rosenkreuz. This one was probably inspired by Fallout / S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and in part by works of =cibex.
Completed 04/27/09, in early a.m.'s. Approx. 2 - 3 hours. 16 ga. galvanized steel. Chain measures approx. 26'' of 3/8'' diam. rings in mixed chain and byzantine weave. Custom pendant approx. 2.5'' diam., soldered, with some 20 ga steel wirework. Custom hook & ring. This one is a gift for ~Bazilisk. More experimentation with soldering, as well as photo backgrounds. I used the building roof outside my bedroom window, which has a nice post-apoc look to it. The gun is a toy replica of XM8 Lightweight Assault Rifle. Had some trouble soldering the biohazard arcs to the base, until I remembered the way I handled it with Das Rosenkreuz - by wrapping the parts in thin wire. Note to self: remember this technique for the future. Detail here: [link] Alternate view here: [link] |
