IG Company Command Squad

"The Company Command Squad is the heart of an Imperial Guard army, directing the actions of specific units, disseminating orders and executing the commander's battle strategy with ruthless efficiency. Command Squads typically number five men, the officer assisted by the regiment's most competent soldiers. They are often given additional training and equipment, enabling them to function as combat medics, vox-operators and other orderlies. Often, a soldier who has displayed gallantry above and beyond the call of duty is inducted into the Command Squad. Such a trooper may be permitted to carry the regimental standard, a privileged distinction that reminds the company to fight with duty and honor."

The HQ squad of the XXIst Lynnari consists of the most skilled and trusted NCO's of the Skyrangers, including the regiment's sole living Honorifica Imperialis recipient Sergeant Major Sir Thorwald Dess, H.I., K.S. They assist Colonel Reichard with commanding the troops in and out of battle, and often serve as the spearpoint of the Skyrangers' assault.

Left to right:
Colour Sergeant: Sergeant Major Sir Thorwald Dess, H.I., Knight of the Sword. The most decorated soldier of the regiment, SMJR Dess earned the Honorifica Imperialis several times over during the siege of Doritt hive. One of his greatest feats was climbing the spaceport's control tower under heavy fire, to plant the regiment's banner on its top.

Regimental Chief Medic: First Sergeant Mikhael "Padre" Lennard. A Ministorum missionary school dropout, First Sergeant Lennard is the regiment's unofficial chaplain. He leaves the running of sermons to the regiment's official priest, except for two - the last rites, and a personal prayer he always speaks before battle: "Emperor, may my services not be needed this day."

CO Bodyguards: Staff Sergeants Da'ren Il'Lumba and Arvid Dzintari. These two originally served in His Grace's Own Regiment, the personal regiment of the Grand Duke of Lynndor. They were transferred to aid Colonel Reichard upon His Grace's personal insistence.

Regimental CO: Colonel Dietrich Vladislavovitch Reichard, Baron of the Sword. The Skyrangers' commanding officer, coming from a family of high-ranking Imperial Guard officers. Well-read, has a shrewd military mind. Prefers surprise strikes at the enemy's weak points and personally leading charges.

Regimental Chief Assault Weapons Specialist: First Sergeant (Currently nameless).

Regimental Chief Vox Officer: First Sergeant (Currently nameless).

Standard metal IG Cadian command squad, with two sergeant models added as bodyguards. The first squad to undergo a repaint to an upgraded color scheme. That included a wash over the fleshy bits and additional color on the camouflage. Reichard's greatcoat was originally full Codex Grey - I repainted it into a darker color while trying to get a gradient on it.

The thing that looks like it's sticking out of Reichard's shoulder is a piece of background.

Col Reichard was created as a character in a short story written for GW Apocalypse contest. I might post it at some point, but it needs a re-write, since it was written overnight. Even if it did get second place in the contest.

SMJR Dess's story came up while building the army list before the latest Codex was out - he originally had the Honorifica Imperialis as wargear, and I was trying to figure out the reason he would've gotten it. FSGT Lennard was invented while posting this Dev (all I had on him earlier was the last name). Rest should come along eventually.
